Seven Blessing for a Jewish Wedding - 9 Options with PDF's
As a professional wedding officiant, I'm non-denominational. I'm open to everyone. I have to say, there is a very special place in my heart when I perform an interfaith - Jewish wedding. I personally love the timeless traditions of Judaism. What I absolutely LOVE about Jewish weddings is the focus on family and community in everyday Jewish life and how it's incorporated into the ceremony. I always walk away from the ceremony feeling like the ceremony had true purpose to the couple and their guests. There is rejoicing in the blessing.
As you can read in the several options below, the blessings don't even have to be religious sounding, they simply express what we would wish upon every couple as they start their married life together with the intention of building a family and being an intrical part of their own community.
I've gathered most of the options below from:
Interfaith family:

And My Jewish Learning:

As Traditional as Judaism is, I was thrilled to find variations written for same sex couples! Option 8 is written for two women and Option 9 is written for two men.

The creation of the world and humanity.

The couple's happiness.
The raising of a family.
According to Chabad.org, "It puts the state of marriage into a dynamic relationship with the beginning and end of history—the Garden of Eden and the expectation of the Messiah. The first three blessings have nothing directly to say about the marriage itself, but they form the foundation of the nuptial benedictions that follow. The last blessing is the climax of rejoicing, with the chanting of ten synonyms of joy that reach a crescendo in the praising of G‑d who rejoices the groom with the bride."
The Seven Blessing for a Jewish Wedding 1
I found this updated version of the Seven Blessings for a Jewish Wedding when I was researching for an interfaith wedding ceremony several years ago. I copied and pasted it from somewhere along the way and it took several more years to find it's source. It's source can be found HERE. They were written by friends of the Rabbi's daughter and performed at her wedding. His story is absolutely beautiful.
