I found this version on Lena Hopes Website. It’s Beautiful! When she performs the ceremony it’s the Hand Holding Ceremony and she says:
When you give your hands, you give your hearts.I ask the couple to face each other. First, join your right palms, and then your left palms. This forms an infinity symbol with your hands, which symbolizes a love that will go on forever. Then I ask the couple to look into one another’s eyes. Lena Hope, Marriage Celebrant Bride and Groom, your hands together will nurture your love and your relationship. Hold each other and gently hug one another often. In times of struggle may they help you to relax and feel safe and loved. In times of joy may they join in celebration. These hands will hold each of your children in tender love – guiding, supporting and encouraging them along the way, and together your hands will share the many joys and responsibilities of family life. May these hands that are given to the other freely and without reservation be blessed with strength and tenderness. May these hands continue to build a relationship founded in grace, rich in caring, and devoted to loving. May they always be held by one another for many, many years. I do not claim to be the original author of this script. I am sharing it like this to make it easier for anyone to use. Back to The Hand Ceremony Comments are closed.
